Systems Engineer - MTS-IV

Aitech is looking for a strong Senior Systems Engineer to work on rugged embedded computer systems built using a combination of custom hardware circuitry and commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) circuit cards. The job entails the knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Systems Engineering tasks, including:
    • Analysis, development and maintenance of systems requirements/specifications
    • Interface specification and design
    • Development of alternative system design concepts
    • Performance of trade-off studies
    • Requirements review and tracking
    • Development of test plans and procedures
    • System integration, verification and validation
    • Test station requirements and definition
    • New business development and strategic planning
  • Perform technical lead tasks:
    • Oversight and guidance during detailed system design
    • Conducting design reviews
    • Releasing drawings
    • Organizing and tracking of system configuration and changes
    • Coordinate the development of test programs including procedures, test equipment, and reporting.
  • Successful candidate will have and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded computing hardware, including PowerPC, Graphics, Comms and I/O and DSP applications
  • Prepare and present customer presentations, and participate in face to face customer discussions and negotiations regarding complex technologies
  • Develop technical solutions derived from technology building blocks
  • Use project scheduling tools to estimate the total cost of a development program
  • Strong communication skills
  • Manage technical sub-contracts
  • Independent worker who can operate in a small company environment
  • Lead special Research & Development project activities or investigations within the Electronic Engineering discipline.

Requirements

  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelors of Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science recommended
  • 10+ yrs experience recommended
  • Experience with Mil-Spec programs and diverse background in electronic circuit design for embedded computer system development
